For Summer Flowers and Everyday Bowls

June 26, 2026

This time of year, I find myself bringing more of the outside in. A few stems from the garden, a farmers market bouquet, or even a handful of herbs can change the feeling of a space. Last year, we introduced our vases late in the season, before the holidays, but after the summer flowers. This year, I’m so excited to be sharing them during peak flower time.

Our vases are made for that kind of simple arranging. They do not need anything elaborate to shine: a loose arrangement of summer flowers in the kitchen is enough. For some time, we were getting flowers as part of our Fully Belly Farm CSA, and I found that having some vases handy and keeping fresh flowers in our home was a big life upgrade. Those CSA flowers inspired me to add these vases to what we make.

Of the 5, here are some quick tips. The Diamond Vases and the Bulb Vase are the best for down-to-earth flowers; The Amphora and the Orb vase are nice for larger arrangements. The Broad Vase is a wide-mouthed vase that can also be used as a utensil crock.

They also make a thoughtful gift this season. If you are visiting friends, celebrating a birthday, or bringing something to someone you love, a handmade vase feels both useful and personal. Fill it with flowers before you arrive, or let the piece stand on its own as something they can return to again and again.

A Closer Look: Grain Bowl vs. Ramen Bowl

We often hear from customers who are trying to decide between our Grain Bowl and Ramen Bowl, so we wanted to share a little more about how we use each one. Truthfully, they hold around the same volume, but somehow they feel quite different.

The Grain Bowl is a grounded and versatile everyday piece. It sits low and wide on the table, and it has a little more heft. It doesn’t tip over easily. It is great for rice bowls, salads, pasta, vegetables, or anything that feels like a full meal; we use it as a main dish for our dinners often. I’ve been known to put some leftovers in one and dash out the door to work in the morning, grain bowl lunch in hand.

The Ramen Bowl is deeper, sits higher, and has a smaller diameter. It’s great for brothy soup, but it’s also great for a big salad, or as a serving piece on the table. With its smaller foot, it sits more elegantly on the table.

The Grain Bowl and Ramen Bowl side by side

Fun fact: they both generously hold a full quart with room to spare, so the choice really comes down to shape and how you like to use them. I think of the Grain Bowl as the workhorse everyday meal bowl, while the Ramen Bowl, with its taller shape and greater sense of depth, is the one I reach for when I want to sit at the table, deliberately savoring something…

We recently shared more about the differences between the two in a Reel, in case you missed it.
